Volunteer Opportunity – Site Restoration at Jonesborough Forest

Join us for Jonesborough Forest's last vegetation clearance session of the season. It's the last opportunity to remove the gorse which has been invading the site; this will allow the biodiversity to improve.

Join us for Jonesborough Forest’s last vegetation clearance session of the season.  It’s the last opportunity to remove the gorse which has been invading the site.  Removing the gorse will allow other species in the forest to thrive, improving the biodiversity of the forest.  Tidying the forest also improves access for the public.

Don’t worry if you aren’t confident cutting vegetation down, we can teach you the necessary skills, alternatively there are plenty of other tasks which need doing, such as making habitat piles from the cleared material.

All tools and safety equipment are provided, all you need to bring with you is a packed lunch, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, hiking boots are ideal.

Registration essential.

NB: This work day is weather permitting.

The volunteers have been hard at work this winter, if you’d like to see some of their work visit the gallery.
