Big Spring Clean of Daisy Hill Wood

Team up with Newry, Mourne & Down District Council and the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership to give Daisy Hill Wood, Newry a Big Spring Clean.

Join Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership for a Big Spring Clean of Daisy Hill Wood, Newry. Daisy Hill Wood, a charming wooded hill in Newry, has been subject to some severe littering in recent years and needs some cleaning up. But we can’t do it alone!

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute something to your local community and restore much of your local environment to the benefit of others and wildlife as well as a chance to meet new people and make new friends. If you are interested, please contact NMDD Council’s Biodiversity officer, Michael, by email: [email protected] or telephone: 028 3031 3092.

We will be meeting at the Pound Road entrance to Daisy Hill Wood (at the statues), please wear weather appropriate clothing and boots. Refreshments will be provided, however please bring water to keep hydrated.

The Big Spring Clean is an excellent opportunity to work together to provide a cleaner and safer environment for us all, improving the quality of life for communities our local communities, visitors to the area and local wildlife.

In Spring 2017, 111,000 volunteers got involved in clean up events across Northern Ireland, removing an amazing 141 tonnes of litter (that’s equivalent to 77 family cars!).
