Newry, Mourne and Down District Council invite all residents and business owners to a free a Brexit event, with BrexitLawNI, to capture views on how Brexit has been impacting people living in the district.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council invite all residents and business owners to a free a Brexit event, with BrexitLawNI, to capture views on how Brexit has been impacting people living in the district.

BrexitLawNI has been engaged in a research project, in the past eighteen months, looking at the human rights, conflict transformation and constitutional implications of Brexit for Northern Ireland. The research team is comprised of academics from the law schools of Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University and staff from the Committee on the Administration of Justice.

During September 2018, BrexitLawNI published reports regarding the impact of Brexit in six key areas: the peace process, North-South relations, the border and free movement, racism and xenophobia, human rights and equality, and socio-economic rights.

At this event, members of the BrexitLawNI team will briefly discuss some of the key findings of their research; leaving the majority of the time for questions and discussion with the audience.
