Join Dermot and Mary from “Forage” to discover some of the edible delights of autumn on Slieve Gullion. From sloe gin and elderflower cordial to traditional bramble jam and beyond. Exploring the hedgerows, ditches and trees, this event will introduce you to the richness of our natural harvest as well as give an understanding how we can safely harvest without harming the food stores of wild animals. We will also be learning how to record some of the biodiversity we find and harvest using simple smartphone apps and on-line recording. This event is part of the What’s about in the Wild Programme.
