Lúnasa Festival 2017 – Wild Wednesdays: Running waters

Join Gretta, from the Waters & Communities Office, and the Ring of Gullion team on a guided nature walk along the Forkhill River.

Join Gretta, from the Waters & Communities Office, and the Ring of Gullion team on a guided nature walk along the Forkhill River.  You will learn about the plants and animals that call the river home as well as find out what the bugs tell us about water quality of the river.

The walk will be a linear walk along an off-road section of the Ring of Gullion way, predominantly following farm tracks, departing from the car park of the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett.  There will be a short section of road to cross.  The route is not suitable for buggies, the walk itself takes roughly 20 minutes with no stops, so would be suitable for primary aged children upwards.

This event will be followed by a second event, Calm Waters, at Cashel Lough; attending both events will enable you to gain an insight into the differences and similarities between the two fresh water environments.

Cost: Free
