Join the Ring of Gullion, BSBI members and John Faulkner from County Armagh Wildlife Society for the first New Year Plant Hunt in the Newry and Ring of Gullion area.

The group will be visiting different sites in the area and recording any plants which are in bloom. This is a great way to get an introduction of the wildflowers in the Ring of Gullion as we will have experts on hand to help with identification.

Sites will include along the canal in Newry, Derrymore House, Kileavy Churches and finishing in Slieve Gullion Forest Park for a warm drink.  We will be following New Year Plant Hunt rules and only recording for a maximum of 3 hours with the clock stopping between sites.

Groups across Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK will also be taking part in their own area.

This is a fun way to learn about wildflowers growing in your area and is part of a NIEA Challenge Fund funded project.
