Shipwrecks and survival will be the theme of this evening talk. Join James McArevey, well known local maritime historian and canal enthusiast for an insightful look into the worst maritime tragedy in the history of Newry and south Armagh: the loss of the SS Connemara and the SS Retriever. It is 100 years since the collision and subsequent loss of these two ships. Find out more about the appalling aftermath of the tragedy which saw 93 people lose their lives, with only one survivor, paradoxically a non-swimmer, making it through.
