Mark Horton, All-Ireland Development Officer for Rivers Trust will be talking on Rivers Trusts and how communities can become more involved in protecting and enhancing their local river catchment. This meeting will focus on the Fane River catchment area.

This talk should be of interest to a number of active angling and community groups along the River Fane. The River itself rises in County Armagh with a number of tributaries flow into Lough Muckno, from here the river flows into Lough Ross in County Armagh and on to the sea near Dundalk, County Louth. The river catchment includes Mullyash, Annyalla, Oram, Castleblayney, Crossmaglen, Cullaville, Broomfield, Inniskeen and Knockbridge.

It’s a noted fishery, providing a number of local communities with a source of drinking water and supports the local economy.
