Bealtaine means “bright fire” and signifies the opening of the half year of light in the Celtic Year.
Join local historian Úna Walsh of an afternoon of music, stories and decorating the May Bush at what is probably the “most perfect fort”* in Ireland. Lisleitrim Fort in Cullyhanna is a seldom-visited site with three ramparts separated by deep ditches and a level platform with a centre ring which will be the focus of this event. Come and revel in the new spring and ancient traditions
