Have your say on Northern Ireland’s climate future.
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) invites you to respond to the draft Climate Action Plan 2023–2027.
🗓️ Consultation closes: 8 October 2025 at 11:59 PM
📢 Your views matter. Everyone is encouraged to take part.
About the Climate Action Plan
In 2022, Northern Ireland passed its first climate legislation — the Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022. This law sets a goal to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
To meet this goal, the Act requires a Climate Action Plan every five years. The current draft plan outlines:
- Policies and proposals to reduce emissions
- Actions to meet the first carbon budget
- Targets for 2030, 2040, and 2050
Each government department has contributed to the plan, and DAERA is leading the consultation process.
