Launch of the 2019 Sunny Art Award for Emerging and Established Artists

This fine art competition represents an opportunity for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work and gain recognition for their talents on a global level.

Participants will be given the chance to have their work seen by thousands of visitors, professional academics, art collectors and other art enthusiasts. This will include both local and international VIP guests. Furthermore, this will be an opportunity for artists to sell their artwork to international buyers and collectors.

The Sunny Art Prize is representative of the global art scenes of London, Beijing, Guangzhou and Macau and so submitted artwork should reflect the diversity of art and culture, whilst promoting an exchange between Eastern and Western creative cultures.

There is a total cash fund worth £6,000 for successful entrants.

  • The first prize winner will be awarded £3,000, a public solo exhibition in London, a one month residency in China and a group show in China.
  • The second prize winner will be awarded £2,000, a group exhibition in London, a one month residency in China and a group show in China.
  • The third prize winner will be awarded £1,000, a group exhibition in London and a one month residency in China, and a group show in China.

There will also be 27 shortlisted artists whose work will be exhibited at the Sunny Art Centre in London. Seven of these shortlisted artists will be selected to exhibit their artwork at partnering galleries in China, alongside the three prize winners.

Artists from anywhere in the world may apply for this award. However, they must be 18 years old. Accepted media may include painting, ceramic, mixed media (both wall-hung and three-dimensional), sculpture, original prints, video art, photography, installation art and drawing.

The submission deadline for the 2019 Prize is 30 June 2019. Click here to find out more.
