Public Consultation for Existing Village Plans
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council were recently successful in securing Rural Development funding for both the creation of new village plans and updating of some existing Village Plans. This includes the updating of the Village Plan for the below areas:
- Cullyhanna & Dorsey
- Newtownhamilton
- Camlough & Bessbrook
- Mullaghbane
- Altanmacken & Cortamlet
- Whitecross & Ballymoyer
- Crossmaglen, Creggan, Culloville & Silverbridge
- Jerrettspass & Lurganare
The Village Plan represents a vision for your area. It outlines an agreed set of actions that seek to address the key issues, priorities and opportunities, which when achieved, will make a positive contribution to the area and the people that live and work there. It is also a tool that can be used by many for prioritising and informing future developments and as an evidence base for securing funding. Village Plans are owned by the community, therefore we now wish to engage with representatives to review progress made to date and inform new actions and priorities for your village.
Below are details of the consultation event that will be held in order to inform the update of the Village Plan for your area. Please circulate this information among your community group, and other community / business representatives to help ensure as wide and full participation as possible.
