Come join us at Slieve Gullion Courtyard, a home to the Ring of Gullion Red Squirrels to celebrate everything great about these amazing creatures.

As part of Red Squirrel Week 2018, Newry Mourne and Down District Council will be hosting an fun packed weekend on Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th October to celebrate everything great about Red Squirrels.

There will be prizes to be won, arts and crafts, face painting, and of course lots and lots of information about our shy friend the Red Squirrel. We have joined up to provide craft workshops with the ROGHA group for the weekend.

ROGHA is a group of artists and makers all based in South Armagh, Ireland.

Weather depending, you will discover the hidden treasures of Hawthorn Hill Woods on an exciting adventure, where the fascinating habitat of Red Squirrels will be revealed. You might even see one if you are lucky!

The Ulster Wildlife’s Red Squirrels United project will be providing Feeder Workshops on both days. This is your chance to make your very own Red Squirrel Feeder. Booking is essential. For the Feeder Workshops – please book 1 space in per group/family- 1 feeder per group/family.
